Ballintoy 20.09.99 - 21.09.99

After two days of rainy cities, Ballintoy offered some change: rainy countryside! Nontheless, I enjoyed it due to the friendly "Sheep Island View Hostel" and the wild scenery. Here I hiked along the coastline to The famous Carrick-a-rede ropebridge and Kenbane castle, climbed a hill overgrown with thorny bushes (ouch! bad idea...), strolled down to the pittoresque harbor and made friends with a herd of cows ...

Sheep Island off the Ballintoy coast.

Rocky coastline near Ballintoy harbor.

The Carrick-a-rede (gael.: rock in the way (of the salmon)) ropebridge.

Kenbane castle with a waterfall.

A cautious glimpse down a cliff...

..and a descent to a cave beneath Kenbane castle !
